Important info

Important information regarding rope orders:

  • All items under the "Rope Products" category are handmade and mostly only made on order.  Please allow 7-14 days for production and dispatch.
  • If you don't see a color you want, feel free to send us a whatsapp to enquire. We stock standard colors, but custom colors can be ordered.
  • Halters and Leads are sold separately, unless the product descriptions states it as a "set".
  • Bridles and Reins are sold separately, unless the product description states it as a "set".

Types of Ropes used:

Polyester Rope

Polyester is one of the most popular ropes in the horse industry.  It's strong, durable and more affordable than paracord rope.  Made from a general purpose braid with a circular cross-section or a yacht braid.  Consist of a polyester core and cover.

Available in assorted diameters.  We use the 6mm diameter for halters and general rope items and the 14mm or 24mm for the leads and reins.

Paracord Rope

Paracord has a long history, dating back to World War 2.  It has since evolved from strictly military uses to commercial and personal use as well.  It consist of a Nylon Sheath composed of 32 woven strands and 7 inner strands (each of which are 2-ply).  It's mold, mildew and rot resistant.

Paracord has a softer feel than polyester, but is more expensive.

Paracord is 4mm in diameter, thus can only be used as braiding or in weaving products.  A product for example a halter, would be made from the 6mm polyester rope and then the noseband will be braided with the paracord to give it a softer feel.

Items such as Braided Reins can be made from paracord.
